General care guide

This guide applies to all Top Notch Dongs products. We highly recommend also looking up relevant sections dedicated to the specific product that you purchased.

Hygiene

In general, a proper wash with mild antibacterial soap is usually good enough to keep your toy clean. Avoid any cleaning products that contain silicone. If you want to go the extra mile, you can sanitize your toy via boiling (3-5 minutes, wrap the toy in a kitchen towel so that it doesn't touch the pot surface), or dunking them in a bleach solution for a few minutes (10 parts water, 1 part bleach) - do not boil the bleach!

Let the toy air-dry to avoid lint or use microfiber cloth to dry it.

Storage

Your toy can be stored with other platinum cure toys. Do not store your platinum cure toy in contact with toys from other materials for prolonged periods, as some cheaper or toxic materials such as TPE may cause the silicone to degrade.

Avoid prolonged contact with glass, such as storage next to glass toys or using a glass surface display because glass contains silicone - silicone likes to bond with silicone, so your toy might get stuck to glass and it can be hard to unstuck without damaging your toy.

Lubricant

Use water-based or oil-based lubricant. Do not use silicone-based or hybrid lubricants, these may damage your toy - specifically, silicone lube may over time cause slow degradation of the surface of your toy. 

Keep in mind that most toys benefit from using lube to avoid chafing or friction injuries.

Specific material guide

GITD (glow in the dark)

GITD toys need to be "charged" in order to glow in the dark. Charging can be done either under direct sunlight or under an artificial light (like a lamp), typical charging time is 2-10 minutes depending on the glow powder load. For faster charging within seconds (and sometimes stronger glow), an UV light can be used.

Near Clear silicone

In general, we use 2 types of silicone: a) regular silicone, b) Near Clear silicone. How to know if your product is made with Near Clear? 

• when bought via this online store: it is stated in the product title and description. It is either soft+ or medium+ firmness (shore 00-31 or shore 00-45)
• when bought at an event booth in-person: the bottom of the packaging has written info in a permanent marker - left side usually indicates toy size (XS, M etc.) and right side has firmness shore marker, which is either 00-31 or 00-45 for NC products
• if unsure, you can always send a photo of your product in an email and ask

Near Clear does not require any special care HOWEVER boiling your NC toy may result in the clear parts becoming cloudy.

Specific product guide

Dildos

Safety: flared base generally makes the dildo safe for anal use. However, if you are extensively training for anal-play and can take on huge toys, it may not be safe to use smaller toys.

Strap-on: most of our dildos have flared base and are suitable as strap-ons. Refer to size chart for base and shaft circumference for the correct harness size. Medium soft and medium firm are the best firmness picks for strap-ons, as soft & squishy gets quite floppy and may be harder to insert.

Eggs

Safety: do not use anally. Use vaginally only if you are able to take them out easily - there is no string, things get slippery up there and you may encounter difficulties taking them out.

Masturbators

Safety/comfort: we recommend using lube to avoid friction injuries. 

Product specifics: plug typically needs to be held in place to keep inner suction.

Grinders

Safety/comfort: we recommend using lube to avoid friction injuries. 

Spanking stripes

Product specifics: stripes have visible print lines to add texture and decrease stickiness of silicone

Safety: be careful when handling/using around hair - as there is still some stickiness to the silicone, it likes to stick to hair and body hair

Flexible handcuffs

Product specifics: handcuffs have visible print lines to add texture and decrease stickiness of silicone. Handcuffs can handle some stretch but can be torn with excessive force - when you see the stretched out silicone turning white in color, you are getting to a torsion point

Safety: be mindful of your blood circulation. When using snug cuff size, do not use them for prolonged periods of time. We recommend choosing slightly larger than snug size
